ESMO Educational Committee (EDC)

The Educational Committee's goal is to promote education in oncology and ensure a high standard of professional qualification and practice.

Activities and responsibilities

• Supervising, reviewing and approving:
  • Educational programmes of ESMO events
  • Educational activities and initiatives
  • Certification and recertification programmes
• Compiling the Educational programme of the ESMO Congresses
• Selecting experts for the Faculty list

Structure

• The EDC Chair is appointed by the ESMO Executive Board.
• The EDC Chair (ex officio) is also the ESMO Faculty Chair.
• Committee members are the chairs of the EDC subgroups:
  • Adolescents and Young Adults Working Group
  • Designated Centres Working Group
  • Educational Publications Working Group
  • ESMO/SIOG Cancer in the Elderly Working Group
  • Examination and Accreditation Working Group and its subgroups:
    • Global Curriculum Working Group
    • Continuing Medical Education Working Group
  • Faculty
  • OncologyPRO Working Group
  • Practising Oncologists Working Group
  • Real World Data and Digital Health Working Group
  • Translational Research and Precision Medicine Working Group
